Hello Everyone,
As you can see the Blog is up and running with two posts. I added a Group Sites box in the top right corner. This way everyone will have an opportunity to add one site link to this Blog. As the group grows we can decide whether we'll keep adding or find other useful way to use our links.
If you hover over the BOOMARK button on the top right, it drops down and opens a list of sites where you can share the Blog post. This is a quick little tool that you can get at http://www.addthis.com/. This is important because it helps generate links to the Blog and I'll show you how you can use this to add your links to your site. The MORE buttons in the drop down will give you a pop-up with a larger list of sites. If you're not a member of these sites, go ahead and create you own accounts with them. I think they are all free; so no expense here. These are networking, media and Blogging sites to help us generate links. One of the pieces of the Secret Sauce to Search Engine Optimization is Back Links to your site and this is a quick and easy way to get this started.
For those of you that are thinking about getting out your aluminum caps so the Aliens, Google and the rest on the Internet can't read your mind or the information you enter into these sites. So don't enter your real age. For security reasons, I wouldn't be too accurate with all the information you enter into these types of sites, just be consistent. Because as we have already learned, the information you enter is likely to be sold. Subtract however many years you'd like to be off of your age as long as you're using the same date and not your real one. Just in case it's part of a security question for a forgotten password. I usually play a much younger man on the web, sometimes I'm blond and sometimes I'm even a woman but that's another story.
I will be asking everyone for articles to post, questions for discussion and anything else that we can think of as we move forward. I know the name is a little long and dozen’t quite roll off the tongue but it's good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and it’s one of the things we are going to be doing. I will be adding other Widgets to the right side as well. Also, we'll be moving to a WordPress Blog soon. I just wanted to get something up fast so we can start communicating.
